Electric technology standards of Republic of Korea into global ones !
Korea Electrical Association continues to promote the maintenance of electrical equipment technical standards under the electrical business law in order to comply with the WTO / TBT agreement and to actively respond to market competition. Through this, Korea Electrical Association is seeking the safety of the general public and electrical equipments and the efficiency of electrical projects.
Electrical equipment technology standards are the stipulated requirements necessary for the safety management of electrical equipments based on the Article 67 of the Electricity Business Act and the Article 43 of the Enforcement Decree of the same act and operate upon the notification of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Resources .
These standards are applied to the entire electricity sector including design, construction, supervision, inspection, and maintenance. In addition, "Korea Electric Technology Standards Committee” established in Korea Electric Association has performed advices to the government, conformity assessment, etc. for the adoption, approval, and adjustment of technical standards.
Purpose : Plan of electrical equipment safety and electrical business efficiency
Defining the performance and technology requirements necessary for the safety of electrical equipments in accordance with the Article 67 of the Electricity Business Act and the Article 43 of the the Enforcement Decree of the same act.
Scope : Electrical equipment technical standards and criteria
The standards and criteria operate upon the notification of the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Resources and are applied to the overall field of electrical equipments, including design, construction, supervision, and inspection and maintenance.

Korea Electric Technology Standards Committee
The committee has performed advices to the government and conformity assessment for the adoption, regulation, and approval of technology standards, actively acting as it consists of the experts with the rich knowledge and experience from the government, academia, industry, research and institutions.

A venue for aggressive publicity and comments electrical equipment technical standards has been provided by carrying out the mutual cooperation with international electricity organizations such as Deusches Electrotechnishe Komission in DIN and VD (DKE), the Japan Electrical Manufacturer's Association (JEA), and China Electricity Council (CEC) and planning workshops, technology seminars, and commentary education programs.
